Vendor question: "For bid option three (replacing all access points and controller), do you expect the district to be responsible for any cabling and hanging of wireless access points as long as brackets are provided?" VISD response: VISD will be responsible for any cabling and AP placement. No bid required for this aspect. 2. Vendor question: "Where would I find addenda after they are posted?" VISD response: Addenda will be located at http://rfp.vashoonsd.org 3. Vendor question: "Per your RFP you state no installation or configuration serves are required for Bid 1 and 2. Can you please verify if this is also true of Bid 3." VISD response: Feel free to bid for configuration for bid three. Please itemize it separately. 4. Vendor question: Do you want secure ceiling mounts? VISD response: no 5. Vendor question: Do you want them to be black or white? VISD response: White 6. Vendor question: Do you have t-grid ceilings? VISD response: Yes in most locations. 7. Vendor question: The APs come with a basic grid mount for drop ceilings, would these work for your project? VISD response: Yes 8. Vendor question: do you want to upgrade all three current controllers or roll them into one large one? If that is the case do you want a redundant controller? VISD response: 1 large controller, duel control plane (e.g. redundancy), duel PS. 9. Vendor question: You want to re-use licenses on the controller, will you be transferring them to the new controllers? VISD response: Yes 10. Vendor question: Do you require additional licenses? VISD response: Not at this time. 11. Vendor question: You also require minimum of 256 APs on the controller, do you want ability to expand? VISD response: yes 12. Vendor question: You specify Aruba 215 and 225 are these the minimum specs? VISD response: yes 13. Vendor question: For the controller capacity, what is the minimum number of APs it needs to support when you consider future expansion? VISD response: 256 14. Vendor question: Can you please expand on page 6, bullet 6 a little more around exactly what you are looking for? VISD response: VISD means that Manufacturer of the gear must have plans to sell and support products and have local VARS in the region for the next 5 years. The same goes for the VAR. They should plan to be available to address our business needs for the next 5 years and be in good condition fiscally. 15. Vendor question: What licenses will you be re-using, AP capacity only or do you have additional licenses for additional capabilities? VISD response: We intend on reusing AP licenses. If we accept option three we will migrate existing AP licenses to new controller and purchase any additional licenses required to operate that controller. 16. Vendor questions:In the Technical Requirements section of the RFP: In 2.2 Bid1 and 2: Access Points – General requirements You ask: “Explain how your WLAN system meets the following criteria and/or needs.” As we are providing equipment only upgrades can you clarify what you mean by “your WLAN system”? VISD response: Applies to Bid 3 only 17. Vendor question: Section 2:3 "Response page maximum of 2 pages, you list 2 pages of requirements". Is this the case or will you accept additional pages if needed? VISD response: Additional pages accepted, please make sure they are pertinent. 18. Vendor question: “If including a bid for an upgraded wireless controller explain how your WLAN system meets the following criteria and/or needs.” We are providing equipment only upgrades, can you clarify what you mean by “your WLAN system”? VISD response: An upgraded wireless controller is a WLAN system. Please outline the capabilities of the controller you are recommending and describe how they meet our system requirements. 19. Vendor Question: 2.3.6 States “Robust infrastructure in each building for BYOD computing support for multiple platforms (web/laptops, tablets, smartphones, etc.). Again we are providing equipment only upgrades can you clarify? VISD response: BID THREE ONLY 20. Vendor Questions: "When do you anticipate performing the installation of the wireless controller and thus assistance with configuration if the Bid 3 option is chosen?" VISD response: "Sometime after July 1 2016 and before August 31 2016."
